4X4 Explorer - 4WD maps

★★★★★ Used this app for a few years now and even though it crashes every now and then, we can generally find a workaround. Most of the bugs that we have had had either been sorted out by doing a restart of the device or contacting Hema directly by phone, and they have talked me through fixing the issue. We mainly use this app for recording tracks that we have done. Good work Hema.

★★★★★ I've been using the Hema 4X4 Explorer - Ultimate 4WD and off-road maps for a while now and find it generally quite good. The cloud is still glitchy, with things like you can't delete old trips from the trips section and in the My Users POI section it shows only a satellite image and nothing else, there are no references at all on that page. Hema please move the Explore menu tab over to be next to the Hema Shop tab, having it in between the function menu tabs is confusing, block the user tabs together and the Hema marketing tabs together for better user workflow. The app itself works well, and I like the interactivity of the POI's and that the information and photos help in the decision-making of whether to camp there or stop. Finally, I am confused about the pricing. Does one need to rebuy the app each year and then renew the map subscription. Or do you just renew the map subscription each year?

★★☆☆☆ Buggy and expensive. Useless without the additional $50/year premium maps as no offline Hema type maps are included. Important: prepare to reset the app before every trip! In my brief use, 2 did it randomly stop displaying HEMA premium maps when starting offline! The location indicator is still this hard to see dot (the old app did that better), SD cards are still not supported. I'll have to extract the APK of the old app from my phone as I trust it more.

★★☆☆☆ BEWARE - app needs internet to use paid for offline maps. It will leave you in the bush if it logs out or device gets turned off. Will not work again until internet is restored! Useless app for the money at that point
