Aside from full screen being impeded by a black bar at the top of the page on mobile. Chrome casting works fine. I'm considering replacing MBI with this as humans pick these films and well I'm admittedly a Kermode fan so enjoy the intros. It's a heck of lot cheaper than MBI, doesn't increase in price most years whilst removing features. This is simple and easy to use. Whilst supports a charity. So thoughnI can't use this when traveling abroad offline or roaming it's okay for the price.

I've been a BFI Player subscriber for a while now and so pleased there's now a new Android app available. The design is intuitive and lets me easily explore all the films available. I was using my Mac to screen films previously, but now will use this app to cast direct to my TV. Really impressed with it, especially given the BFI is a charity after all. Looking forward to getting through all the films on my watch list - currently trying to complete the Sight and Sound Greatest Films collection!

I tend to use this more on my TV, but have also used it on my tablet (though the interface is a bit different). Simple to use interface (though I prefer the tv version) with a good selection of free-to-subscribers films, & pay-for movies available. Slight criticism that some films suddenly become "unavailable." Surprised to see some reviewers complaining about casting to their Samsung TVs, as my Samsung TV allowed me to install the player directly as an app, so no need to cast to the screen.

Often just get a black screen with sound when trying to watch a subscription film on phone. Then when I try and watch subscription films on my smart TV they cut off every 5 mins. Emailing the bfi support has got me nowhere, and they are now not even responding to my emails! Very poor experience and will be seeking a refund

Great content but terrible app. Features common with all other streaming app are missing here. Not just advanced ones like downloads, but basic ones like resuming unfinished films. I'm paying for the BFI subscription, but this is not good value for money. I'm constantly getting errors pop-up like java sockets timeout, media encoder error etc., then playback just stops. If you try to hit the play button nothing happens. I have to restart the app, search for film & guess where it was
