I have many Bible apps, and while Bible Gateway is one of my go-to websites on my PC, it is one of my least used apps for Bible study on my phone. My main complaint with the app is the awkwardness of the index. Switching between books of the Bible is slow and cumbersome with the scrolling method of finding the next book/chapter/verse. I find the index searching on Olive Tree, Logos, Blue Letter Bible, and Literal Word Bible all to be easier to use.

I do not recommend this app. I subscribe to Bible Gateway Plus. Despite this, I cannot access commentaries that are supposed to be available to me (see attached). I have had similar problems with this app for a long time. This is unfortunate, I really wanted to use the app. But I will be canceling the app right now. And because the free app produces inappropriate and loud ads, I will also be removing the app from my phone.

Nothing worse than a full size ad playing loudly when you try to look up a verse during bible study or church. Would give 0 stars if I could. HarperCollins should be ashamed of the abomination they have turned this app into.

This used to be a great app until the painfully long pop up ads. I take at least a minute for the ad to get to the point where you can cancel it and then actually use the app.
