Does what it says on the box, and their data retention and usage policies read as following industry best practice which is good to see (your details are never shared and are stored as an encrypted value. When a verification request is made, the requestor values are encrypted and compared to see if the values match, so for example your actual address is never stored or shared).

Edited to add - almost 5 years on (June 2024) and I still have issues with staff telling me 'sorry, we only accept hard copy ID'. No issues with the app itself - more issues with Outpost staff never having heard of it, and refusing to even look at your phone because they can only hand a parcel over if they've seen a physical ID (like a driver's license). I was once denied a parcel attempting to use this app - feels like I'm in for an argument every time I go to the PO.

Can't remember your PIN? Don't worry, the clowns behind this app will send an SMS with the reset code in 24 hours. Plus, I tried to use my driver license as a guest, and it won't recognize it. Beyond useless And now it gets worse. Of course the recovery PIN doesn't work, and they want me to reinstall the app. Outpost, sack all your developers, they are totally incompetent

Can't see any way to transfer my digital ID to a new device. Looks like I have to verify all my documents again.
