Superb! Was a huge fan of the FF adventure books when I was a nipper now I'm reliving it. Superbly written, great fantasy universe created and beautifully illustrated! I care about the main character and his motivations and unlike the FF books there aren't many if any "Open a door and you die scenarios" the traps and dangers make sense and are well placed and you always have a chance to test your luck to get out of it. I will be buying all of these books!

Fun Gamebook Wasn't sure I would like the theme of this book much, but I ended up enjoying a few play throughs!

Wanted to like it Writing: So-so. Inconsistencies: For example, character draws his dagger, then 2 paragraphs later draws it again without having put it away. Length: Played to end twice in 30 minutes. Maybe I should try it again, but I'm just not interested enough.

This book dead ends after just about any choice you make. Don't let all of the choices fool you. This is an extremely linear game. Almost every choice is the wrong choice. It is just a guessing game and the consequences of a wrong answer is death or exile every time. It is a shame though, the UI is amazing and gameplay is great. Too bad the content is horrible.
