★★★★★ Version 4 in October 2024 - Great to see satellite map option now available, but there are now major errors on elevation - 200 m out in parts of DRC Congo! A lot of fixing is required before this can be regarded as a reliable mapping tool.
★★★★★ Good Experience, I used it at sea since I am a sailor. I used Garmin Epix Pro, did not expect it to be very function even at sea. However, I would like garmin to add Unit Nautical Mile on the Navigation Apps in watch, now NM only in Garmin Explore, but on watch only have mile. Second, would like garmin to adjust the time of sunrise and sunset in apps not just base on location, but also on the watch set time using which GMT. I still use GMT +8, but the time sunrise and sunset use GMT +7.
★★★★★ Since the recent updated version with free Satellite maps much, much better. Still learning how to with a few things, but way better than the previous version. 👍
★★☆☆☆ Almost always an awful experience. Had an update stuck for years that decided to install for some reason. It used to never synch before the update, and now it does, but now these idiots got rid of tracks it seems. I used to plan a course, keep every course I've ever done, then save a single track for each day of offline use. Now I can only see every course I've ever done on my GPS device. It seems there's no menu for just my offline maps on the device. Garmin is the worst.
★★☆☆☆ Keep having problems with the new update. The first time the offline maps simply didn't work. I had blank canvases. I deleted the app and put it back on and it works. Now, the same thing happens to me during a 5 days trek. First I had the full map, then a part, then, after trying to restart it, nothing. I was lucky it was a well mark trail I could have been in much trouble. Now I got to find a new, reliable app.
