We've tried Guide Along in Yellowstone, Arches & Canyon lands National Parks. This guide is a fantastic way to learn interesting things about the parks and fill time while you drive. It makes the long drives much more fun for kids and adults alike - my tween kids cheered when "The Tour Guy" was back for our latest trip. I also appreciate how up-to-date they keep these tours (the Yellowstone tour mentioned the 2024 Biscuit Basin explosion when we went there a couple of weeks after it happened).

The app burns through battery fast, but works pretty well. It plays short audio clips regularly, with silence in between. It pauses & resumes my podcast app nicely to play its clips, but not my music app. My main complaint is the content: the two tours I've done of national parks barely talk about nature. It brings up ghosts at every opportunity and strongly implies that national parks are bad by endlessly emphasizing the use of eminent domain in park creation.

Although some of the information was informative, the narration kept skipping out for minutes in the Yosemite. Yellowstone did not work well for us. Entering the park, the narrator was talking about leaving the park. Not much narration, a lot of dead space, which is a shame. The park is so big there could be a lot of information to tell people. The narration also skipped in Yellowstone. I downloaded the informa The 'MOON' books for Yosemite and Yellowstone were much more informative and useful.

Went through Smoky Mountains/ Cades Cove and was quite disappointed. The amount of history that could've been told, seems like a missed opportunity. Was awed by the knowledge that I gained when going through Ban ff and Ice fields parkway, while listening to Guide Along. 10 stars on that Audio tour, but only 1 or 2 on this trip. We also went through Shiloh National War Park and thought would be a good Guide Along tour.
