KEF Connect

★★★★★ Had to completely reinstall the app and Google home the second day. I could stream directly using Tidal connect, but not from the KEF app. 17/05/22 Seems to have settled down now. I have cabled my LS50 II's. Don't really use this app much now as I have Roon

★★★★★ It's hard to understand the number of negative reviews for the app. I think it delivers everything it promises. The EQ settings are customizable to your liking.

★★★★★ A Sound App! Simple and intuitive. It was an easy setup with the LS50 II and has allowed me to control the soundscape from any room. The additional controls allow me to fine-tune settings between music and movies.

★★★★★ Can't find speaker. Says it's in standby even though it is on and playing over usb. All the time. Then says no speakers available. App won't allow connection over its Ethernet from the app on phone on Wi-Fi. Speakers are great app not so much.

★★☆☆☆ Great speakers (LSX II LT) but this app is not fit for purpose. Connection drops happen all the time. App tells me the speakers are in standby even when they're playing music. If you, like me, were hoping to use the Kef Connect app for your streaming fix then you are going to be sorely disappointed. Using the app to play music from a radio station or a streaming platform fails. I'm now going to have to get a dedicated streamer to remedy the unacceptable failings of this app in its current state.

★★☆☆☆ Lovely hardware badly let down by this app. Doesn't anyone test this app? It's so buggy. On my Pixel4 the app sometimes fails to connect at all despite being in same room as router and speakers with great Wi-Fi signal. Sliders are prone to going unresponsive. Difficult (sometimes impossible) to save EQ settings. Doesn't work on older versions of Android (so forget re-purposing old android tablets). Doesn't work properly on iPad either. The Roon app works *much* better for the hardware but is not able to control input selection or do as much with EQ, so it's not a complete solution for general use. I LOVE the LS50wII speakers (and I love Roon)... but I don't think I can live with this app. Sorry KEF, this just makes your gorgeous speaker hardware unusable IMHO. UPDATE: KEF UK support has been really unhelpful. No-one seems to care about these issues, so I have had to return the LS50wII speakers and stands for refund. Such a shame. Really disappointed. :-(
