Pinch A Penny in NW Houston is fantastic. I've worked with many pool companies over the last 40 yrs, & Pinch a Penny and Candace are the best. We replaced our main motor with the new Pentane with all the remote controls & love it. We also discovered that our control box had gone bad and Pentane replaced that Pinch a Penny and especially their expert installer Michael did a fantastic job for us. App works well, if only a bit sluggish. For those of us with Ultratemp heaters, It would be very helpful if there was a setting that would only turn on the heat pump when ambient air temps were above 55 degrees F, regardless of scheduling. The ultra temps are not efficient below these ambient air temps, and it would be a very useful setting. It should be possible since there is an ambient air temperature sensor and presumably could be done through a software update.

Ever since the updates n the name change, this app has been very buggy. I can have 5 bars clear signal n I still can not connect to my pool. There are even times in Wi-Fi it does the same thing.

I write this review as a pool builder, homeowner and exclusive user of pentane products. The quality of the brand overall is great. However, the app is less than stellar. As stated, I only use Pentane, so my experience with other brands is limited and the quality associated with their apps is very limited. It seems to me that Pentane could and should have a much more seamless app seeing how there is no other way to conveniently use your pool. I know I can go to my intellicenter and control.

Software is buggy. This is not something you want in pool and spa control software. I recommend avoiding anything Pentane if you have other options. They do seem to be fixing bugs, so I'm hopeful the software will improve, but right now I can't recommend it.
