After the closing of Google Podcast, I have been trying some alternatives, but find this one does the trick and offers the features a way looking for in a just podcast app.

I have enjoyed this app for several years with the one time payment option to remove banner ads. It has been my go to for listening to podcasts. I have always been happy with the app. I love being able to download episodes for offline playback for airplane trips. I decided to get the premium option a month ago and it has been great! I love having a playlist widget. I reached out for support today, for what turned out to be user error, and Xavier got back to me with a solution very quickly.

Was my favorite podcast app, but recently it will not download new episodes and stops playing when screen is off. It keeps saying I need to turn off battery management for the app, but battery management is and has always been disabled for this app. I have changed the setting back and forth several times trying to get it to work, but it refuses. Guess I'm back on Spotify until I can find something better.

Annoying localized ads started to play in the beginning of any podcasts despite that I bought the premium app version a long time ago. It seems this app was recently bought by Spotify, and they now push additional ads onto users unless they pay 10 bucks (local equivalent) per month. I don't mind when Podcasters choose their own suitable ads inside shows (ones with too many I just stop listening to), but this additional charge is really obnoxious.

I'd like to give this app a higher review, but I've reached out to customer support and after approximately 10 days I have not heard any type of response. The app is quirky. Create a Google Home routine that by using a keyword would play the latest version of a podcast. Unfortunately, I can't get this to work. I have tried all the settings that would keep only one episode, but it keeps remembering an additional random episode.
