Secrets for Android

★★★★★ Excellent app. HTC Desire. Import from Excel csv worked well. Backed up and restored when I changed handset. Gr8 ................ I wrote the above review in 2010, it is now December 2020, and I am still using the app, having changed my phone several times. It has been 100% reliable. The' backup' option stores an encrypted backup of the data on the SD card - but I have never had to use it 'in anger'. I think I might have used it when changing phones?? Every couple of months I 'Export' the data to a CSV spreadsheet file (on the SD card) and then copy the file onto my PC as a password-protected Excel file (and then delete the SD card file as it is not encrypted). Hence, if I loose or destroy my phone for some reason, then I still have all the data available. I have never had to use this file 'in anger' either! Some people say that tapping an entry does not show the password, I always double-tap the entry, and the app then shows all the related data. I guess that some sort of option which would create an encrypted, cloud-based copy of the data (synchronized) would save me having to copy the CSV as described above. I want to have a copy of all my data, saved in a format which could be accessed by another program (with the appropriate master-password), because my family would be totally helpless if I (and my phone) went under a bus! They know the master password, and could access the Excel file on my PC to unlock all their/my passwords. A really great, and reliable app, now storing well over 400 passwords for me (many are ancient-history and are unused/old, but who cares). Brilliant - thank you!

★★★★★ Simple, fast 2015 Update: Still using this great app on my 5th Android phone. This is still very useful and a trusted tool. Love this app! 2012 review: I've been using Secrets for two years and it works fine. It is quick to load and has only been updated a couple of times. (Can't stand it when apps frequently get updated.) Wish list? It would be nice of I could integrate this with LastPass or have a PC desktop version that could sync with my Android.

★★☆☆☆ Lost everything After backing up my password and trying to restore to my new phone, it will not import. I get a message "Uh Oh. Unable to restore from secrets.csv". This is the most generic message possible and could not find support anywhere. Moving to a new app.

★★☆☆☆ Samsung Galaxy Note 8, the backup and export functions are not working. I read the User Guide online. I do a search for "secrets" in my files and I only see the last time I performed a backup or export. I see a "secrets" file dated for April 2021. It's now August 2021. Where is the file saving to? Has an Android update changed something?

★★☆☆☆ Change phones = not going to work Changed cell phones and I can't get my passwords on the new device. Hell, the app won't even let me log in. Says I am using the wrong password, yet it works on my original phone just fine.
