This is the geology app which has the highest likelihood of becoming the new standard. Two features would be beneficial to add: an alteration / mineralogy ability, and an easier method for nematic mapping (e.g. lithology only, crosscutting hydrothermal alteration, etc.)

I used this to collect my data for my PhD research. It makes it very easy to record accurate GPS coordinates for outcrops, and to link outcrops to samples to thin sections. The development team has made great strides on adding features for different types of field work, and are very responsive to suggestions for features or bug reports. This is a great data collection tool that also serves as a data repository.

A good idea, but not yet ready for prime time. Lost a lot of data because
of bugs.
