The new app has such terrible reviews that I am staying on the legacy app. Good way to read The Economist magazine - convenient when out and about. Fortunately, the recent update that stopped the app recognising logons has been fixed, but this shows poor testing by the app developers.

Superior ability to create an audio playlist of articles. The "new and improved" Economist apps never match the quality of this classic version.

Does the impossible, delivers this news on a timely manner. Without imposing fake news like the US media system. Each article represents research of intellectuals and presented in an understandable format. Without compromise The economist stands in the gap presenting brilliance in a dismal media onslaught with one agenda socialism for all, and communism for those that will stand for it. However, the new audio app interface is dysfunctional at best. Tech guys you missed the mark.

I think this is the 3rd or 4th time I've rerated this as a 1 star and if I could keep taking them I'd be at -2 stars, at least. The content of the Economist is so good that I can't delete it, but I just hope, for about 8 years now, that they fix it. Now when listening to audio you can no longer click on the article, and given the important tables in some, this WAS an expected feature. No more. Everything else remains bad: loses its place, ordering issues, etc. HIRE OUTSIDE HELP!!

The interface for listening to the audio is deeply disappointing. Not intuitive at all. For example if I add some new items to the playlist and forget to remove items that I have already listened to it then plays the old items after the new items have completed. Also why can't I listen to the audio with the screen off (and the phone in my pocket) very inconvenient when listening on the move? Why the intrusive adverts? (I'm a PAYING subscriber!)
